Whole Bowl in Portland

One of my longest favorites

I love the whole bowl and it really tastes like a hug as the store said! It’s healthy and filing with reasonable price. It’s really simple but so good! I normally don’t eat olives but in this bowl with their special tali sauce everything just tastes so right together! Would recommend anyone that needs vegetarian or vegan option and quick food here!

I have been dedicated to this brand for 5 years now. I absolutely love this one item menu, The Whole Bowl recipe leaves you satisfied, happy with the whole plane nutrition you chose to consume and the flavor profile is astounding. I love the Tali sauce, it is unique and very Portland for me. Grab the bowl and enjoy.

The Whole Bowl is my latest addiction. I can't believe how incredible they are! I dream about the Tali sauce and will pay someone handsomely if they tell me what's in it. I've tried the recipes online from people who think they've nailed it... No. Will someone make my dreams come true?! My only complaint is the one on Sandy isn't open on the weekends, or past 6 on weeknights. I need whole bowls well into the night, people!

This business is completely unethically sound. They sell themselves as “The Whole Bowl” yet hold a business model that discriminates against anyone with children or those in wheelchairs/mobility devices. They have steps at all of their restaurants locations, long lines, no safe space to park a stroller. I needed lunch today while working with two infants under the age of one, so I called to place an order to keep the children out of danger (having to wait on the street while I climbed the stairs). The woman running the place was extremely rude and responded with outrage at a simple request to place a phone order. I’m not returning to this business until I receive a personal apology from the business owner, a confirmation that they will no longer discriminate against mothers or handicapped customers and until they fire the employee that spoke to me inappropriately. Unacceptable. Unprofessional. Discriminatory.

Had a big bowl and left impressed. A must visit if you're kind of hungry but not super hungry and want something healthy. Try the cookie.

I absolutely love this place, great & healthy food, wonderful prices & positive customer service as well as atmosphere.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5 because honestly that's what it deserves. A huge bowl of vegan, protein filled goodness. And the Tali sauce that's on it totally ties it all together. Order with some tortilla chips and this is a very filling meal. With a price that's almost unbeatable. Definitely would and do recommend this place.

If it wasn't for the nasty soap taste I'm sure it would have been fine.

Favorite spot to get some hearty simple food

Dope little lunch spot in Portland. Stopped by and ordered the 16oz bowl, which was full of a bunch of yummy veggies, beans, and rice. Lady working there was chill and the atmosphere was pretty hip. Would definitely stop by again :-)

I love whole bowl! I've lived in PDX for a year now and this is the restaurant I've frequented the most. I always get the vegan big bowl, I'm faux vegan. I try to pace myself and sometimes I can get 2 meals out of it. Tonight I ate the whole thing, I'm still full 2 hours later. It's the best!

Thus is a go-to good idea place whenever I'm getting hangry. I don't know anyone who, when I say I'm going to Whole Bowl, doesn't beg me to bring them one.Rice, beans (black and red), avocado, cheese. Sounds good enough there right? WRONG.They then top it off with cilantro if that's your jam (it's not mine, but hey), sour cream, and black olives.The real star of the show is the secret sauce: Tali sauce.If I could only read the mind of one person and them lose the power, I'd read the mind of whoever invented Tali Sauce so I could make it myself.Anyway, TL;DR is eat here. It's healthy, wholesome food at a good price point run by locals who care about recycling and composting.

Okay... YUM! I was a little skeptical of this place, because I’m a little picky. For a one-item menu, I was surprised all of the amazing reviews, so I decided to try it out. The place was pretty busy when I arrived, however I got my food in like 5 minutes! It was so fast. The lady taking orders was so nice and the venue itself is so rad! My food even kept perfect until I got home (30 minutes later). When I tried it, I became obsessed! I highly recommend ordering tortilla chips as well!

The whole bowl is fine. I mean, it's really just a blatant, less delicious rip-off of Cafe Yumm. To be honest, maybe part of it was that I really had a hankering for Cafe Yumm so this couldn't help being anything but disappointing. But again, it's fine and it's better than fast food or fried bar eats but I will most likely drive across town to get the real thing next time.The person taking and filling orders was really nice and friendly and at lunchtime on a weekday there were only 2 people ahead of me so the line wasn't bad at all.

Super simple food but super tasty. Hardly any options, but that's sometimes a good thing. Bowls are vegetarian or optionally vegan.

Delicious and healthy food. Great atmosphere. Perfect for a summer day. The server was very friendly and made the whole experience fluid. They keep to Gordon's Ramseys ideology, have a small menu so you can make each item fantastic

The whole bowl is a great quick healthy bite on Hawthorn. Simply beans, rice, fresh vegg, and handmade sauce. Easily made vegan by removing cheese and sour cream. 4 stars because everything is served in to go disposable containers.

Simple and delicious. One of my favorite places to have stumbled upon in my trip to Portland.

The bowl they sell is 100% nutritionally satisfying, the sauce is absolutely delicious, and it's super cheap. Only $6.50 when I went there. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a good vibe quick bite.

What's not to love about this place? They make one thing, so you know they make it well. Their bowls are filling, healthy, tasty, and reasonably priced. Service is fast and friendly. I read another review calling this place a rip-off of Cafe Yumm. They are similar, but with major differences. The sauce is distinct, although also based on nutritional yeast. Definitely not inferior or a knockoff. As a foodie I love both places equally, and even though they sell similar products I hardly see them as competitors.
